The traditional prayer ceremony in Hainan is only applicable in leap years of the lunar calendar. The objects used on the altar, including the statues of gods, are cleaned and then consecrated again by a Taoist priest. After the prayer, the objects are returned to the altar. The special food is "Li" coconut leaf rice - made by steaming rice wrapped in coconut leaves in the shape of a pillow or duck, which means "shedding the shell to eliminate disaster".
海南传统祈祷仪式只适用于农历闰年, 将神坛所用的物件包括神像清洗干净,请道士重新开光;祈福後重新返回神坛上, 特有食物是"笠"椰叶饭 - 用椰叶编织成枕形或鸭形外壳蒸煮，取“脱壳消灾”之意.
